For women in violent relationships, it is not uncommon for violence to escalate during pregnancy.
The Family Safety Center is proud to partner with the University of Memphis in the Pregnant Mom’s Empowerment Program (PMEP), to help pregnant moms deal with intimate partner violence. The program includes a virtual support group and was created to improve maternal mental health and reduce re-victimization during this transitional time.
The Pregnant Mom’s Empowerment Program is a 5-week support group from women between 10-30 weeks pregnant. Meals, transportation, and childcare are provided, and participants receive compensation.
